TIME is running out for people to sign up to a community share scheme helping to create green energy.
Staffordshire Community Energy has already secured more than £105,000 of its £155,000 target for the offer linked to the new Lichfield Leisure Centre.
The scheme will see the community take ownership of the solar panels on the roof of the Stychbrook Park facility.
Mike Kinghan, board director at Staffordshire Community Energy, said:
"Reaching £105,500 is a fantastic milestone and demonstrates the growing support for community-owned renewable energy here in Staffordshire
"We'd like to thank everyone who has already invested and helped bring us this far.
"As we enter the final stage of our share offer, we're asking people to help us maintain that momentum.
"Investments start from just £100, so even a relatively small investment can make a real difference.
"Every new investor brings us another step closer to our £155,000 target. We hope as many people as possible will join us over the coming days and help us demonstrate what's possible when communities come together."
The closing date for the community share offer is 15th July.
