A legal challenge against Lichfield District Council’s Local Plan has been launched.

The Judicial Review Challenge will be heard at the High Court in July.

The council confirmed the challenge, although it is not yet known who is behind the move.

The Local Plan outlines the future of the region and includes information on issues such as the number of new homes to be built.

The council has already had to revise its proposals to develop 8,700 properties by 2028 after the Planning Inspector said a further 900 were needed.

That led to a report being drawn up outlining potential new sites, as well as an increase in the number of homes expected to be built in Fradley.
