A Liam Holt hat-trick saw City produce arguably their best performance of the season to see off a high-flying Stafford side.
The visitors raced out of the blocks and found themselves two goals to the good in a frantic opening ten minutes.
Defender Jonathon Huckfield got the ball rolling with his third goal in as many gamesas he slammed home a loose ball from a corner on three minutes.
It was soon followed by a lovely turn and finish from Josh Houghton to double City’s advantage.

Lichfield got their third on 35 minutes as Liam Holt made up for an earlier miss, clinically driving a left foot shot home after persistent work from Kyle Minto.
The visitors never took their foot off the gas in the second half and soon made it four, Holt heading home his second of the game after a Danny Worrall free kick wasn’t cleared by the home defence.
The hosts had brief respite when Will Evans conceded a penalty and McMahon got his second of the game, but City had the final say as Holt smashed in a dipping free kick on 75 minutes to complete his hat-trick and a 5-2 win for Lichfield.
