Lichfield and Burntwood bin collections hit by winter weather

Bin collections across Lichfield and Burntwood have been hit by the cold snap.

A number of residents in the district have seen their bins left uncollected after icy roads prevented workers from accessing all routes.

Lichfield District Council blamed “adverse weather conditions and health and safety implications” for the disruption.

Residents were also advised:

  • If your bins were not collected on January 8, your bins will be collected on  January 13 (weather permitting).
  • If your bins were not collected on January 7, your bins will be collected on January 12 (weather permitting).
  • If your bins were not collected on January 6, your bins will be collected on January 11 next week (weather permitting).

People have also been advised that additional recycling will be collected as long as it is left in a carrier bag rather than a black bag.
