People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to return any unused crutches to a local hospital.
Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital Minor Injuries Unit, which services the Tamworth and surrounding areas, is making the appeal.
Sister Sherrin-Jones said:
“It is vital that people return crutches that they no longer use to enable us to continue to provide a good service to other patients and keep our costs down. Only 33 per cent of crutches issued to people in the last six months of 2009 were returned which was a loss for the unit of over £1,700.”
Anyone wanting to return crutches should drop them off at any time and day at the MIU, Plantation Lane, Mile Oak, Tamworth or call 01827 263800.
