Lichfield and Burntwood residents are being given the chance to cut the cost of heating their homes by having cavity wall or loft insulation installed.
Homeowners will be able to take advantage of a cut price deal thanks to an offer from Lichfield District Council, the Energy Saving Trust West Midlands and Heatsavers.
The price starts at £69, but residents are being reminded that having insulation installed can reduce heating bills dramatically.
Helen Spearey, Lichfield District Council’s Strategic Director of Community, Housing and Health, said:
“Not only will taking advantage of this offer save you potentially hundreds of pounds a year on your fuel bills, it could also help reduce your carbon footprint and make your home much warmer. Only post-war houses have cavity walls, but, even if you live in an older house, an insulated loft can make a big difference to your comfort and your bank balance.”
This offer is available until 30 June 2011. For more information or to book a free survey, call the Energy Saving Trust West Midlands advice centre on 0800 512 012, quoting ‘Saving energy in Lichfield District’ or email advice@est-westmidlands.org.uk.
Some residents may also be eligible for a grant to cover the cost. For more information visit www.warmandgreen.co.uk or call Warmer Homes, Greener District on 0800 512 012.
