Chris Newcombe will move on after deciding to focus on his academic studies, teaching andmusical interests.

“I will not be leaving entirely and intend to remain as a volunteer, although during the coming year my focus will have to be primarily on my studies,” he explained.

“Lichfield Arts is a fantastic organisation with a terrific team of volunteers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over the past year.”

He succeeded long-serving chairman Brian Pretty in the post and the search has now begun for a replacement.

Tim Perks, vice-chairman of Lichfield Arts, added: “Everyone in Lichfield Arts is extremely sorry that Chris is stepping down from his role.

“We would all like to extend our personal thanks for his incredible contribution in the short time he has been in the post. We wish him well in the future and hope he will be able to stay involved in the organisation.”

The organisation hopes to have a new chairman in post by March. For more details on the role visit the Lichfield Arts website.
