LICHFIELD suffered their first defeat of the season as they went down by 37 runs at Coseley.
After winning the toss, the city side sent their hosts in to bat first.
They made an early breakthrough when James Suttle removed Coseley skipper Stuart Jones with just the second ball.
But solid form at the crease saw the scoreline tick along to 175-4 by the time the 31st over was completed.
The home batting line-up was in fine form, with strong scores throughout as they eventually reached 289-9.
Nick Richards was the top wicket taker for Lichfield with figures of 3-39, while Suttle and Rory Prentice also claimed two victims each.
Weather delays saw the visitors set a revised target of 207 from 34 overs.
But despite Harry Turley-Salmons striking 79 off 82 balls, Lichfield could only reach 169-9 in their innings.
