A new Canon Chancellor has been appointed at Lichfield Cathedral.
The Rev’d Dr Anthony Moore will take up the role in January.
The 41-year-old is currently Dean of Chapel at St Catharine’s College Cambridge.
A spokesperson for Lichfield Cathedral said: “Throughout his ministry Anthony has developed his knowledge and expertise of working with children and young people.
“He has a keen sense of the missionary opportunities a Cathedral is able to develop through its life and worship, its welcome and accessibility. He has had a long-held conviction that he would be happy and fulfilled in Cathedral ministry and relishes the prospect of joining us in 2013.
“All who met him during the 24 hour discernment process appreciated his personality, intelligence and insight. He is warm and approachable; his evident gifts of faith and vocation and his appetite for work made him a natural choice.”
