The incident happened at around 1.45pm today (12th April) on Bore Street.

A spokesperson for Lichfield Business Improvement District’s support officers revealed they were with a local PCSO in a neighbouring office when the crash happened.

“We heard a sudden crash and went outside to see a flood of people standing around,” they said. “A Hyundia estate car had reversed into an office building.

“Members of the public had rushed to aid the driver, who was an elderly gentleman. He wasn’t injured but shaken up.

The car was significantly damaged at the rear, which had crashed through the wall causing structural damage to the building.”

Office workers and Business Improvement District support officers helped take the driver to safety with the building evacuated to allow for a structural survey to take place.
