Lichfield City FC’s pre-season campaign continued with a 6-1 defeat at Banbury United.
Paul Holt’s men took the lead after just ten minutes, but were pegged back thanks to a strike from Albi Skendi.
Banbury made their higher league status count as Skendi completed his hat-trick with two more goals before the break.
City hit the bar as they pushed to get back in the game, but a penalty just after the hour mark saw Banbury extend their advantage.
Skendi added his fourth of the game before another late penalty saw the hosts wrap up the scoring.
Meanwhile, Lichfield City have been handed their first month of Midland Combination fixtures.
They kick-off their league campaign with a home clash against Bolehall Swifts on August 3.
Another home encounter with Racing Club Warwick follows on August 10, before they travel to Castle Vale JKS on August 13.
It’s a trip to Bromsgrove Sporting on August 17, with newly-promoted Alvis visiting Brownsfield Park three days later.
Stafford Town host City on August 24, with home ties against Pelsall Villa (August 26) and Pilkington XXX (August 31) wrapping up the first month.
