Lichfield City FC frustrated as they are held to a home draw by Pelsall Villa

Lichfield City FC missed the chance to go above visitors Pelsall Villa as the two sides drew 1-1.

Things looked good for Paul Holt’s men when Dan McLeod put City ahead after 22 minutes.

But an Alan Wilkes leveller five minutes before the break restored parity.

Lichfield were given an unexpected boost when Pelsall’s Ashley Bellingham saw red after collecting his second yellow card early in the second half.

But City failed to make the breakthrough despite Kyle Minto spurning a good chance to win it in the dying moments when his header from six yards out was cleared by keeper Panesar.
