Lichfield City FC eased through to the next stage of the Les James Challenge Cup with a 3-1 win over Boldmere Sports & Social.
A tight first half saw neither side manage to break the deadlock, but the visitors went close in the opening stages of the second period.
But it was Lichfield who finally got their noses in front when Mark Rose continued his run of scoring form.
And Gary Birch’s men stretched their lead as Dave Carns found the net.
Rose clattered the bar as Lichfield began to turn the screw, before Dan Thurstance added the third.
There was still time for Boldmere to pull a goal back but it wasn’t enough to deny City their place in the draw for the next round.
