Lichfield City FC manager Paul Holt has admitted he is “fuming” after his squad was decimated by injury.
James Lawson was the latest name added to the casualty list after rupturing his achilles.
He joins an ever-increasing treatment room that already features key figures such as Sam Geffen and Chris Milner.
“It’s disappointing as the injury list is mounting up,” Holt explained. “The season is in danger of fizzling out.
“After such a good run, we will struggle to make the top ten now unless we can string a few results together over these last four games.”
Holt’s mood wasn’t cheered by the way some of the injuries were picked up by his players.
And he warned there may be some tough decisions to make at the end of the season.
“Most of my squad playing Sunday football has really hurt us this month,” he said. “Some of them are playing Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
“This will be addressed in the summer.”
Lichfield’s bid to bag a top ten finish in the Midland Combination Premier Division continues tomorrow (April 27) when they entertain Castle Vale JKS, kick-off 3pm.
