Lichfield City booked their place in the semi-final of the JW Hunt Cup with a comfortable win at Shifnal Town.
Liam Kirton, Jordan Francis and an own goal were enough to seal a 3-0 triumph on the road.
The first chance of the game went to the hosts though, but City keeper James Beeson was quick off his line to keep a strike out with his foot.
But Shifnal keeper Tom Clapp was then tested by a powerful Tom Hurdman strike at the other end.
The breakthrough came on 18 minutes when Liam Kirton slotted past Clapp.
Sam Fitzgerald sent a header wide as Lichfield looked to stretch their lead before the break.
Kirton almost doubled his side’s advantage early in the second half when his effort went narrowly wide.
The second goal arrived when Dan Lomas saw a shot saved but Francis followed up to net his first Lichfield goal.
Minutes later it was 3-0 when Kirton chased down a long ball that resulted in a defender sending it past his own keeper.
Clapp was having a busy night in the Shifnal goal and was forced to save from Kirton and Fitzgerald to prevent things getting worse from the hosts, while the crossbar also prevented Lomas from adding a fourth for City.
