A Lichfield councillor has urged two General Election candidates to apologise to each other.
Conservative Michael Fabricant would not shake Lib Dem rival Cllr Paul Ray’s hand after the result was announced.
It came after the Tory victor criticised “appalling” personal remarks made in election literature distributed by the Liberal Democrats.
It led to an awkward moment between the two at the election count.
But Cllr Joanne Grange has now said the pair need to bring an end to their spat.
The independent member on Lichfield District Council said:
“There is enough division. I’d like to invite both to show leadership and apologise.
“Cllr Ray should apologise for saying silly things in a leaflet and for being silly and not shaking hands.”
