A Burntwood scheme helping older people to remain in their own homes has been boosted by a donation from a Lichfield business.
Arthur Price has handed over 40 place settings worth £500 to Burntwood Live At Home after hearing that the scheme’s Boney Hay Lunch Club was without cutlery.
Sue Meehan, Community Services Manager of Burntwood Live At Home, said: “We have been using ‘lent’ cutlery for a while now which had to be washed before returning. This took up a lot of time and resources, but above all that, it wasn’t right.
“When Arthur Price contacted us and offered to supply the group we couldn’t accept fast enough. Everyone is very grateful for their kind offer and an added nice touch was their CEO Simon Price personally delivering everything.”
Mr Price added: “When I heard about the lack of cutlery, we offered some of our products without hesitation and I’m delighted that we can make a small contribution to an extremely worthwhile cause.”
