She said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at the Lichfield Garrick at a point where the organisation is developing and growing in many exciting ways.

“I look forward to getting to know the people of Lichfield and to contributing to the rich artistic life of this beautiful city.”

James Leavesley, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Lichfield Garrick, said Karen’s appointment would help develop the theatre’s bright future.

“We were overwhelmed with the quality of applications for the role,” he said. “Karen has a wealth of experience and will complement artistic director Tim Ford’s vision.

“I am delighted to welcome Karen on board in, what is, a period of great change for the theatre. The Board and I are very much looking forward to working with Karen, Tim and the team in the next chapter of the Garrick.

“There are lots of new exciting plans for the theatre, all of which will develop the great work that has already been achieved and also ensure its future.”
