The city theatre has reached the final of the Persimmon Homes’ Building Futures scheme which sees money given to support work with young people across the UK.

Persimmon Homes West Midlands is backing the Garrick as it seeks to win either a £100,000, £50,000 or £20,000 donation.

The award will be made in October to the cause with the most online votes.

Matt Clay, sales and development manager at the Lichfield Garrick said: “It is a huge achievement to have been selected as a regional finalist, but now we really need people to get behind us and get voting so that we are in the strongest possible position to earn one of the top three cash awards on the night.”

People can vote for the Garrick online.

Matt added: “We would really appreciate everyone’s support.”

“The prize money will help make our young rep and community productions fully accessible by offering BSL, relaxed and dementia-friendly performances.

“A top prize could help us purchase caption units to use on many more shows.”

Voting ends at midnight on 27th September.
