The city centre venue is looking to appoint members of a Youth Board made up of people aged between 13 and 20.

The Garrick says the new advisors will be charged with imagining an exciting programme of activities for younger audiences.

Jonny McClean, the theatre’s community and education manager has been delivering workshops for schools and recruiting potential members.

He said: “It’s exciting to see the Youth Board taking shape, as this will be an amazing opportunity for young people to both improve access to the theatre for their peers, as well as putting a fantastic experience on their CVs.

“We still have a couple of places available, so get in touch if you’re interested.”

Interested young people are being asked to send 200 words to  education@lichfieldgarrick.com explaining why they think they have what it takes to be a member of the board.
