Award-winning actress Patricia Routledge and international concert pianist Piers Lane are set to tell the extraordinary story of Dame Myra Hess at the Lichfield Garrick.
Dame Myra found fame thanks to he morale-boosting recitals at the National Gallery during the Blitz.
With piano music by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Schumann and Chopin, audiences in Lichfield will hear how the great adventure of these lunchtime concerts began and how it continued while bombs rained down on London.
Admission One Shilling will be at the Lichfield Garrick on June 25 at 8pm. Tickets cost £18, and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
