DESPITE missing out on a podium spot, Lichfield’s Finlay Lines was able to take plenty of positives from his latest outing in the Ultimate Karting Champisonship.
The youngster enjoyed impressive pace throughout the weekend at the Kimbolton Kart Circuit.
After missing Friday practice, he quickly settled into the circuit and qualified in sixth.
That pace continued through into the heat races where he managed a third place and two second place finishes.
The performances meant Lines secured fifth on the grid for the final where he was with the leading group from the off.
The KR Sport driver worked his way up to second going into the closing laps, but after an ambitious move to try and hit the front failed to pay off, he ended up losing places in the final corner and had to settle for fourth.
