A group from Lichfield have been raising money for St Giles Hospice at a casino night in Barton-under-Needwood.
The Lichfield Ladies Circle saw 120 people raise £1,585 from an evening of roulette and blackjack held at The Waterfront.
The group’s chairman, Ruth Curry, said:
“We were delighted that our efforts raised so much money for St Giles. At some time, many of our members are personally grateful to St Giles for the high-quality medical and nursing care they provide, as well as the support to their families.
“Although St Giles receives some funding from the Government, the charity relies heavily on donations and fundraising – events like our casino night make a real difference to them!”
The casino night took months of organising and all 26 members of Lichfield Ladies Circle were involved in the event planning. The money was raised from ticket sales, raffles and donations.
