Lichfield man killed after being hit by train at Barlaston level crossing

A Lichfield man has been killed after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Barlaston.

The man’s identity has not yet been officially confirmed, but he has been named locally as Stuart Turner.

The incident happened at around 8pm on Friday evening at the Station Road crossing at Barlaston, just south of Stoke-on-Trent.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said:

“When crews arrived, unfortunately, it was immediately clear that there was nothing that could be done to save the young man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
