Parents-to-be have been given a chance to find out more about maternity services at an open day in Lichfield.
The Samuel Johnson Community Hospital threw open its doors earlier this week to showcase some of the facilities on offer.
There were also workshops on breast feeding, hypnobirthing and water birth, while alternative therapy demonstrations, including reflexology and aromatherapy were available too.
A number of mums who have recently given birth at Lichfield’s maternity unit returned for the open day.
Rachelle Griffin, who gave birth to her first child Willow seven months ago, said: “It was a privilege to have our baby here.
“The midwife who had looked after me in pregnancy was here on the day I was in labour and that made it even better.”
Willow is one of 300 babies born each year at the Samuel Johnson Community Hospital.
Lead Midwife Julie Baker said: “We’re proud of our unit and our staff. We promote normality in childbirth and focus on embracing the family to ensure a positive birth experience.”
