Lichfield’s MP has invited Chris Moyles to sample Lichfield life after the DJ played a parody song which claimed there was nothing in the city.
The Radio 1 Breakfast Show host played Wolverhampton Gurls – a light-hearted take on the Katy Perry hit California Girls.
But despite sticking the boot primarily into the Black Country, the song also had a dig at Lichfield with the line:
“You could go and see Lichfield, though there’s nothing really there.”
However, Conservative MP Michael Fabricant has suggested the DJ should visit the city to find out what it’s really like.
He told The Lichfield Blog:
“I shall invite Chris Moyles to LichVegas and show him how wrong he can be! And it’s not just the bars and the restaurants. It’s England alive and well.”
