Lichfield’s MP is set to call for an end to a ban on gay men from donating blood.
The move was introduced in England and Scotland in 2011.
At present, gay men are only entitled to donate blood if they have not had sex for 12 months.
Now Michael Fabricant MP has tabled a motion calling for a change to the rules.
He said: “I will urge the House of Commons to drop the gay blood ban.”
Mr Fabricant will speak to the House on the issue later today (October 22).
