The Lichfield Players are inviting members of the local community as well as schools to enter a competition to help design a brand new logo to be launched for their 2010-2011 season.
The winning logo will feature on all Players’ publicity including production posters and banners displayed at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre and at other venues around the city.
Players Chairman Rachel Parkes said:
“What we’re looking for is a fresh, engaging idea for a new logo which reflects our adaptability and critically recognised professionalism.
“We produce five plays a season in the Lichfield Garrick’s Studio and Auditorium, from black comedy and thriller to potent drama and professional collaborations, and this season’s productions have been near sell-out shows.
“And for anyone interested in the competition but who has yet to see us on stage, we’re performing a new version of Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, from February 3 at the Lichfield Garrick – four weeks before the end of February deadline.”
Competition entrants are invited to use typeface, colour and creativity to produce a striking and distinctive logo design which includes the society’s name.
The winner will have the opportunity to work alongside Lichfield-based design company Igloo57, whose clients include Meatloaf, Artemis Travel and more locally Lichfield’s George IV pub, to see their concept transformed into a polished logo.
Other winner privileges include acknowledgment in next season’s production programmes as well as two Lichfield Players season tickets valid from September 2010 to June 2011.
Full competition details together with more information about the Lichfield Players are available at www.lichfieldplayers.org. The closing date for all entries is February 28.
