LICHFIELD Pride organisers say their "thoughts and heartfelt condolences" are with those affected by an incident at an event in Germany.
One person has died and 16 have suffered injuries after a car was driven into a crowd at Berlin Pride.
Police in the German city say they are searching for a 21-year-old man in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for Lichfield Pride said:
"We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic incident at Berlin Pride.
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with everyone affected, including those who have lost loved ones, those who were injured, the LGBTQ+ community in Berlin and the emergency services and volunteers who responded.
"Pride events are a celebration of love, acceptance, visibility and community. It is heartbreaking when moments intended to bring people together are overshadowed by tragedy.
"As one Pride community, we stand in solidarity with Berlin Pride and with LGBTQ+ communities across the world. Together, we remain united in our commitment to equality, inclusion and ensuring that Pride continues to be a safe and welcoming space for everyone."
