Lichfield Explorer Scouts have enjoyed a Dragons Den evening to understand more about how to setup a business.

Four local businessmen from Lichfield Round Table acted as Dragons for the evening, receiving seven pitches for ‘funding’ from teams of Explorers who had been learning about business planning and preparing their pitch for four weeks.
Business ideas pitched included custom wetsuits, an iPad app for displaying sheet music, survival training courses for journalists, online personailsed video greetings, a high performance mobile phone case with integral speaker, an edible ice cream stick and a high performance bike chain that changes colour depending on its level of oiling to extend chain life.
Three of the pitches were ‘invested’ in by the Dragons, with the winner of the challenge being team Radiation with their mobile phone case.
Chairman of the panel of Dragons and Lichfield Round Table, Julian Webb, said: “The Dragons were incredibly impressed with the quality of ideas, preparation, market research and business plans presented during the evening.
“Clearly we have some budding entrepreneurs in the city!
“The winning entry was considered by all the Dragons to be an excellent idea that would meet a real market need. It was a great night and really shows the quality of talent amongst the young people in Lichfield.”
Round Table welcomes Lichfield men aged 18-45 to find out more about its active social and fundraising calendar through its website www.lichfieldroundtable.co.uk.
