A Lichfield supermarket is set to get a new entrance lobby to cut down on draughts.

Planning chiefs gave the green light to a proposal by Waitrose to build the 36 square metre lobby.

In the application to Lichfield District Council, Waitrose owners, the John Lewis Partnership, said:

“The existing entrance to the store will be retained with a new glazed draft lobby constructed. It will be used as a means of cutting down on draughts entering the shop floor.”

It is not yet known when work on the new entrance will begin.
