A Lichfield woman has been arrested on suspicion of fraud offences.
The 26-year-old was held after detectives from West Midlands Police raided addresses across the region as part of an investigation into the management of a nursery.
Properties in Handsworth, Birmingham and Lichfield were checked and the Kare Babies nursery in Hamstead Road, Birmingham, was closed for the day (October 1).
A West Midlands Police spokesman said:
“The investigation has been carried out in partnership with Ofsted, who in light of the arrest, are closing the nursery for the day. This decision has been undertaken to minimise disruption to the children, ensure the safety of all children who attend the nursery and to assist the investigation.”
