THE women’s season came to an end for Lichfield at the weekend as the 2nd XV won 28-17 at Handsworth.
The result was their 13th win from 18 games and sees them finish second behind Birmingham Moseley.
The coaches continue to be able to give experience to a wide range of players, yet it was Sarah and Rose Baugh – regulars in the back three – who scored all the tries with two apiece. Issy Davies converted all four.
The women’s and girls’ sections are holding an open event at Lichfield Rugby Club on Saturday (9th May), starting at 10am.
As well as celebrating 35 years of female rugby, it was also offer an opportunity for women girls aged eight and upwards to take part in free coaching sessions.
