FULL accessibility has been restored at a Lichfield museum after lift upgrade work was completed.

Erasmus Darwin House has confirmed the project had now been carried out thanks to funding from HS2’s Community and Environment Fund, the Swinfen Broun Charitable Trust, The Friends of Erasmus Darwin House, the Lichfield Conduit Lands Trust and an anonymous donor.

It means access is now available across all exhibition floors at the Grade I listed building.

Marie Burbage, museum manager, said:

"We are incredibly grateful for support to make this vital investment in our museum's future.

"Accessibility is a core value for us, and this joint funding directly removes physical barriers, allowing every visitor to experience the remarkable legacy of Dr Erasmus Darwin equally."
