Residents in Little Aston and Stonnall are set to vote on new Neighbourhood Plans for both areas.
The two locations are the first in the district to get the green light from independent examiners to go forward to a public referendum.
The vote will ultimately decide whether Lichfield District Council uses the plans to help inform future planning applications.
Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for economic growth, development and environment, said: “It’s great news that Little Aston and Stonnall are the first neighbourhood areas in Lichfield District to get to the referendum stage.
“I hope local residents get involved in helping to shape their local communities and place their votes.”
The referendums will be held on February 25 between 7am and 10pm. Little Aston’s will take place at Little Aston Village Hall and Stonnall’s will be held at Stonnall Youth & Community Centre.
Residents on the electoral register who live in Little Aston and Stonnall will receive their poll cards through the post.
