Debut goalscorer Danny Griffiths is hoping to use his time at Chasetown FC to develop his career.
The 18-year-old made an instant impact after coming off the bench to net the winner at Lincoln on Saturday.
And he will be hoping for more action when the Scholars welcome Sutton Coldfield Town this evening (October 1).
Griffiths admits he is all too aware of the opportunity he has to develop in a competitive environment.
“Playing for the reserves at Walsall has definitely helped me progress and develop as a player,” he told the Walsall FC website. “I’ve learnt a lot, not just in games but also in training as the tempo in sessions has increased, so I’ve had to grow into it and I’m definitely feeling the benefits.
“It’s up to me now to take this chance and continue to work hard and press forward as a player, so I’m excited by the chance to go out on loan and do just that.”
Tonight’s game will give manager Craig Harris a selection headache. Injuries and other commitments forced him to reshuffle his pack at Lincoln.
But with his changed side producing three points, The Scholars boss will need to decide whether to stick with a winning formula.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
