A GROUP of creative locals are showcasing their work at an event in Lichfield.

The Lichfield Makers and Creators collective will be at the Guildhall between 11am and 3pm on 11th July.

The group was formed to help support independent local businesses in the sector come together. It now includes artists, illustrators, a ceramicist, a furniture maker and a woodworker.

Bonnie Lane, who creates items from rescued wood, said:

"The group came into existence in order to help makers and creators have company in such a solitary way of working.

"So now we have a group for general chats and questions, and then a monthly meeting to have a laugh and plan a way to take over the world – beginning with Lichfield."

Other creatives in the group include artists Jennie Stone and Louise Ophelia Jackson, Kate Hammersley from Field Art Space, illustrators Kate Slater and Lisa Hand, and cabinet maker Claire Broad.
