Mark Rose was the hero as Lichfield City picked up a valuable three points at Pershore Town.
The Brownsfield Park side sit eight in the table after the forward’s latest strike.
New boss Gary Birch continued his positive start to life in the City dugout as Danny Haynes went close in the first half, while keeper Jon Clough played his part in keeping Pershore out at the other end.
Ashley Bennett was next to go close before Rose opened the scoring to send his side in a goal to the good at the break.
Lichfield did lose defender Jon Huckfield to another rib injury early in the second period, but his replacement Dan Thurstance went close as the game began to open up.
But despite getting a foothold in the game, Pershore were unable to find a way through a resolute City defence.
Birch’s men return to action next weekend (November 1) when they entertain Boldmere Sports and Social in the Les James Challenge Cup.
