Milestone goal on the horizon for Chasetown FC players

Milestone goal on the horizon for Chasetown FC players

Chasetown FC’s players could net a landmark goal for the club this weekend.

The Scholars are nearing their 2,500 league strike as they head into their trip to Goole tomorrow (November 2).

The club are remaining tight-lipped about how far off the milestone they are, but insist the goal is “imminent”.

Former boss Charlie Blakemore netted Chasetown’s 1,000th league goal, with Shaun Bradbury firing home number 1,500. The 2,000th effort was bagged by FA Cup hero Danny Smith in 2006.

But despite the landmark on the horizon, boss Craig Harris will have his sights firmly on securing three points rather than celebrating a goalscoring milestone.

The Scholars have slipped into the bottom five after a 5-2 midweek defeat at Gresley.

Victory at Goole could see them climb as many as four places – including leapfrogging their hosts.
