Motorcyclist injured in crash near Lichfield

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a crash with a car near Lichfield.

The accident happened on Whittington Common Road in Whittington at 3.30pm on Saturday (June 5).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“Crews arrived on scene to find a motorcyclist lying on the road being cared for by an off duty medic.

“The motorcyclist, a 37 year old man, sustained serious leg and arm injuries in the crash. Crews and medics immediately commenced treatment on scene. The man was given pain relief, his wounds dressed and his body immobilised with a neck collar, spinal board and leg splints before he was flown to Selly Oak Hospital by air ambulance.

“Medics had been pre alerted to the arrival of the man who was in a serious condition. No one else was injured in the crash.”
