However, the company’s chief executive Jamie Buchan has written to MP Christopher Pincher to confirm that a new group will take over the home.

Mr Pincher explained:

“I have been informed by Southern Cross that Haunton Hall is likely to be transferred to Four Seasons care home group. The transfer is likely to occur on September 30.

“Southern Cross has assured me there will be minimum disruption to staff, residents and their families during this transitional stage and that they have a transition plan in place.”

Four Seasons is one of Britain’s leading independent healthcare providers with over 400 homes across the county and currently employ around 21,000 people.

Mr Pincher added:

“I have written to every resident who has contacted me on this issue to keep them informed and up-to-date with this very fluid situation. Recently, when I visited Haunton Hall, staff and patients seemed confident of the future.

“I wish the best possible future of Haunton Hall and if any of my constituents have any concerns on this issue they should not hesitate to contact me. I will continue to monitor the situation at Haunton Hall.”
