A local MP has reassured local residents after a disturbance at Swinfen Hall prison.
Four inmates were injured and firefighters were called to tackle a blaze after the incident on August 6.
Conservative MP Christopher Pincher said: “I am very grateful for the swift response of the police, fire brigade and the prison officers on site.
“The disturbance was contained, controlled and concluded pretty quickly and the prisoners causing the problem were quickly back in their cells – where they ought to be.
“I am sorry that local residents were given a noisy night and I am sure the authorities will want to look into the matter.”
