Unemployment across Lichfield and Burntwood has fallen.
The number of people claiming unemployment benefits in the area in September has fallen to 944 – representing just two per cent of people aged between 16 to 64.
The figure is down from 304 in September 2012.
The news was welcomed by Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant. He said: “This is now an incredibly low figure and reflects the skills and work ethic of residents.
“This compares with the national average of 7.7 per cent of the economically active population.”
