Murder charge after man assaulted in Lichfield city centre bar dies

A man who was assaulted in a Lichfield bar has died.

A MAN who was assaulted in Lichfield city centre has died.

Emergency services were called to the Ricco and Loren bar on Market Street at 11.25pm on Sunday (24th May) to reports that two men had been punched.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:

“Sadly, one of the men died in hospital this afternoon. His family are being supported by specialist officers at this tragic time.

“The second victim was also taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.”

Police confirmed the news and that 36-year-old Billy Allison, from Solihull, has now been charged with murder and Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow.
