Music, fashion and film come together at Lichfield youth centre’s fundraising event

Published:

A two-day event celebrating the work of young people in Lichfield is being held in the city.

Youngsters from Minster Hall Youth Centre will be holding a charity fashion show on September 1, raising money for Cancer Research. The day will also feature a BBQ, bouncy castle, sumo suit battle, cake sale, local stalls and arts workshop from 3pm. From 7.30pm to 10.30pm, the centre will be holding an outdoor film festival.

Entry to the day costs £2.50, and is open to all young people aged 11 to 19.

On September 2, the centre will host a live music event for local young bands, starting at 3pm and running until 11pm. The first 20 young people get in for free, with a £2.50 charge applying afterwards.

County Councillor Mike Lawrence, Cabinet Member for Children’s Wellbeing, said:

“Throughout the summer, youth centres have been holding a plethora of activities designed to keep the boredom at bay for young people. This two day festival at Minster Hall will be celebrating the end of a fantastic summer of activities in the area, keeping young people engaged in positive activities and doing something worthwhile for a good cause.”
