A new stretch of boardwalk has been put in place at Chasewater Country Park to help protect sensitive flora and fauna.
The wooden structure – the second to be installed – covers an area of wet lowland heathland on the north shore of Chasewater Heaths and will prevent people damaging the senstive habitat.
Councillor Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, said: “I am delighted this second boardwalk is complete, as it will help us to protect the rare plants in this area.”
The boardwalk is part of an ongoing project to build nearly one kilometre of boardwalks across Chasewater, linking up footpaths to safeguard the most sensitive habitats across the country park.
