THE ribbon has been cut on a new community cafe in Lichfield.
The facility has been added at Life Church Lichfield following an official opening by Lichfield District Council's leader Cllr Doug Pullen and the city's MP Dave Robertson.
The Netherstowe church is home to a range of local organisations and groups, with the new cafe opening to welcome more people through the doors every weekday morning.
Life Church’s minister, Rev Steve Speight, said:
"We have carried for some time an ambition to have a permanent coffee area so that people can pause, enjoy a drink and connect with others.
"So having raised funds and secured contractors, this summer has seen a transformation within the building to create The Bridge coffee area.
"It looks fabulous and we are thrilled with the finished look."
The not-for-profit cafe will operate on a donation basis and initially be open from Monday to Friday for those dropping kids off at school or for people who want to bring their lunch along.
Rev Speight added:
"For those who work from home or remotely, feel free to bring your laptop, plug it in and enjoy the surroundings. There is free wi-fi, our car park is free to use and friendly faces will be around to welcome you.
"Now that the work is done and everything in place, we extend a very warm welcome to you to come and make use of this newly created space – and of course let others know about it too."
