New fencing is going up at Darnford Park as part of plans to create a Community Jubilee Woodland.
The project will see 7,000 trees planted, including oak, cherry, sweet chestnut, lime, field maple and birch.
But the fencing is being installed during this month in preparation for the arrival of the trees, in order to protect them from rabbits in the winter.
Cllr Val Richards added: “The Community Jubilee Woodland is one of a number of improvements we are making to Darnford Park.
“Other work has included tree thinning, improving entrances to the park, repairing paths and creating new ones, installing picnic areas and bins, and resurfacing the two car parks.
“We are also planning to create an art trail and to add more play equipment to the park.”
