New apartments being built as part of the Friary Outer redevelopment will be known as Franciscan View.
The name was chosen in an online poll run by Lichfield District Council to name the new homes for older people.
Councillor Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council, said: “Franciscan View is a very fitting name for these new homes, celebrating the heritage of this area. Thank you to everyone that voted for their favourite name.”
