The number of parking tickets issued in Lichfield and Burntwood has risen sharply.
New figures show that 5,903 were issued between April 1 and December 31 last year – up more than 50 per cent on the same period in 2012.
A report to the Lichfield Joint Parking Board said: “This increase is the result of
improvement in performance by APCOA which followed a change in management.”
The improved figures have led to Lichfield District Council extending the contract with APCOA to provide parking enforcement until March 2015.
The report also showed that the income from parking enforcement was up 23.8 per cent to £61,875 during the April to December 2013 period.
However, costs associated with issuing tickets means that the scheme ran at a deficit of £15,400.
